What do I need to do in order to volunteer at school or go on class field trips?
We are always happy to welcome volunteers at school and for class field trips. In order to ensure student safety, volunteers are required to fill out and sign a two-page Volunteer Screening Application and have their government issued photo I.D. (typically a driver's license) scanned into the Raptor System. Volunteers are not permitted in classrooms or on field trips until they have been through the Raptor check. By filling out the application and having your government issued photo I.D. scanned, you are agreeing to a background check which searches the Sex Offender Registry (RSO). The Raptor check for volunteers is required EACH year, so even if you were scanned last school year, you'll have to have your ID scanned again for this school year.
IMPORTANT NOTE: On the first page of the Volunteer Screening Application three are three different signature lines, you need only sign the first one. Please note, ONLY sign the second and third lines IF YOU ARE listed as a registered sex offender. If you ARE NOT a registered sex offender, please only sign the first line or you will need to fill out a new application.
