This year marks my 21st year of teaching in the Adams 12 School District. I've taught fifth grade for seven years, second grade for a year, and third grade for nine years. I'm thrilled to work again with the fourth grade team and the community at Stellar Elementary School.
I believe learning should engage a child's mind and heart. I love to incorporate technology as well as a love of the arts into the classroom. Serving the community is another aspect of education that I feel is important. Even though I am originally from Michigan, I have lived in Colorado for 29 years and consider it my home. Teaching Colorado History is a great joy for me, as I love this beautiful state.
When I'm not teaching, you will find me watching my younger son play percussion in Legacy High School's marching band and my older son run at Western State University Cross Country meets. You may also find me going on a walk with my husband, Mike, and our new puppy! I enjoy cooking, exercising, and singing. My family loves to travel, work with the Boy Scouts of America, and attend my concerts when I sing with the Colorado Symphony Chorus.
I look forward to another great year working with students, parents, and the caring staff at Stellar Elementary.
