My name is Melinda Miller and I am so happy to be here at Stellar Elementary! This is my 11th year at Stellar but my 30th year in this wonderful teaching profession. I wanted to be a teacher since I was in 4th grade. There is nothing else I'd rather do! My passion has always been for teaching children and instilling within them a love of school and learning.
Over the course of my career, I have been a classroom teacher in Kindergarten, First, and Third grades, and an Instructional/Literacy Coach for 11 of my 30 years. I have taught in three different school districts: Corpus Christi ISD (in Texas), Douglas County Schools, and Adams 12 Five Star Schools. My BA degree is in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood and Human Development. I almost have my Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology, and I am currently working on a Master's Degree in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education through the University of Colorado Boulder. Additionally, I have extensive training and expertise in literacy and math instruction.
